In recent years, AI has started to grow and is becoming a huge part of education. It would be an innovative idea if it is controlled now rather than later then it would be able to be controlled in bigger parts. With AI becoming more involved in education, there are also risks coming along with AI.
The problem with AI in education is that there could be bias in AI, privacy concerns, and students using AI to write their work. My research question was "AI is more beneficial than problematic to high school education".
Many sources were used such as Onesearch, ProQuest, Youtube, Google, and Google Scholar. 10 different sources were compiled into this guide.
The research suggested that high school and college students tend to use AI more than middle school and elementary school. The answer to the research question “Will AI be beneficial in high school education” was, yes, AI in high school education is beneficial.
Future researchers will need to investigate AI in high school education more. More research is needed on the pros and cons of AI as well as future predictions towards AI.
The definition of "artificial intelligence" which is known as AI is intelligent machines that act like human intelligence. AI officially began at a Dartmouth College conference where John McCarthy first used "artificial intelligence". There are many perspectives on AI because people don't know how it will evolve in the future. Current problems with AI in high school education include privacy concerns, ethical concerns, students cheating by using AI, and less human connection.
The video below talks about how artificial intelligence could assist students in their problems. Sal Khan shows examples such as Khanmigo which helps students with their math problems with the added bonus of really helping, not just telling the answers and how it can be used as "a personalized guidance counselor, academic coach, career coach, and life coach" (5:07). This resource is important to the topic because it shows how AI can be used as another thing to help students who are struggling and both perspectives on AI for the future.
