Impact of Technology on Baseball

 This is a student created research guide for English 102 & Library 201 Learning community. This guide was completed in conjunction with a research paper on the same topic for English 102.

This guide will address baseball and the way it has evolved through time with technology.

The research questions addressed in this guide are:

1. How has technology changed the game of baseball?
2. How is baseball today different from baseball back then?
3. What are the true impacts technology has on the game of baseball?

In recent years many people have been complaining about the addition of technology to sports and how it is ruining sports. However, baseball is gaining more and more fans with technological advancements and making it safer for everyone involved. This paper is meant to show the benefits of technology in baseball and the true effects of technology on the sport of baseball for everyone. The methodology used was an extensive search of resourceful articles found in Google Scholar and SVC databases. 10 articles were used and cited throughout the paper. The results show that technology has helped grow the game tremendously and make it more enjoyable for the fans. It has also helped players and coaches better understand the physics of the game to help themselves improve their game. Implications would be that more research is needed to tell if adding more technology to the game would attract more fans or lose more fans.

Baseball is America's pastime and has been around for a long time.  It has a very rich history and is still the most popular sport in the United States. As society has evolved, so has baseball. It is continuously changing when there are new technological advancements within the United States. Technology has helped baseball grow outside of the U.S. and become very popular in many other countries around the world. It has also helped players and coaches within the game of baseball be more efficient at what they do. The technology makes it easier for fans to enjoy a game no matter where they are.

The presenter explains how technology is beneficial in helping pitchers better understand the way their body moves when they are pitching. This resource is important to the topic because it provides many first-hand experiences on how the technology helps players.
