Immigration Process

Immigration is the process through which individuals become permanent residents or citizens of another country.

The process of immigrating to the United States of America varies depending on your unique situation. To find out more, please visit the US Department of State's website on U.S. Visas.

Important Documents:

  • Passports -- formal documentation or certification issued by a national government identifying a travelers as a citizen or national with a right to protection while abroad and a right to return to the country of their citizenship.
  • Visas -- travel documents required by the citizens of foreign countries before entering another country. A visa does not guarantee entrance into a country. Instead, it signifies that a consular officer at an Embassy or Consulate abroad has determined that the holder is eligible to seek entry for the state purpose of said visa.
  • Green Card (Permanent Resident Card) -- a government issued card that allows you to live and work permanently in the United States.
