Citation Tools: Google Docs

 EasyBib Bibliography Creator offers a free add-on to Google Docs.   Format in MLA, APA, Harvard, and over more styles. Automatically cite books, journal articles, and websites just by entering the titles or URLs.   When you're finished creating your bibliography, click Generate bibliography and your citations will be alphabetized and added to the end of your paper.

Google Docs offers a research tool. You can use the research sidebar to automatically insert the appropriate citations you need for your paper.

1. Open a document in Google Docs, then select Tools > Research. Or use shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Shift+I.
2. Find the paper or study you'd like to cite by selecting Scholar in the search bar, then searching by keyword or author.
3. Select the study or paper and click either Cite as footnote or Insert.

If you click the arrow under the search bar, you can change the formatting for your citations. 

The sample citations in this video use an older edition of MLA. However the Google Doc formatting directions are still accurate.
