The Samish Indian Nation is governed by a seven member Tribal Council elected to oversee the welfare and resources of the Tribe; its constitution, economic development, policies, legislation, enrollment, and justice. A General Council, all voting age members, maintains active participation in both the governance responsibilities and cultural gatherings of the Tribe. Today the leaders of the Tribe move both in the traditional Samish ways and use the tools of the modern day world.

The Sauk-Suiattle Indian people have lived under the gaze of Whitehorse Mountain for many generations: as Fishermen, Gatherers and Hunters in the region of Sauk Prairie and near the present-day towns Darrington, Marblemount and Rockport, WA. In the early days, they were known as the Sah-ku-me-hu.
They were canoe people, plying the swift waters of the Sauk, Suiattle, Stillaguamish, Cascade and Skagit Rivers in our river canoes. Though their homelands were in the foothills of the North Cascades, they often traveled downriver to Puget Sound.

The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community is a federally-recognized tribe that occupies the Swinomish Reservation in the state of Washington. They are committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of our tribal members through social and cultural programs, education, economic development, and resource protection.

The Tulalip (pronounced Tuh’-lay-lup) Tribes are direct descendants of and the successors in interest to the Snohomish, Snoqualmie, Skykomish, and other allied bands signatory to the 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott. They agreed to cede title to our ancestral lands as signatories, which expanded to the top of the Cascade Mountains, north to Vancouver Island, and south to Oregon. In return, the treaty reserved the Tulalip Indian Reservation as a permanent homeland over which they have retained inherent sovereign jurisdiction.
