When to cite?
- Any time your are using information that you did not already know but learned from a source
- Any time you are using someone else's words, data, or ideas, or directly quoting them.
- When citing articles found on web sites, cite the article not the web site. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), 6th edition, now asks researchers to cite the digital object identifiers (doi) number, if available, when citing articles from databases and web sites. If the doi is not available, be as explicit as possible when citing articles from web sites.
The following web sites may help you in citing your sources.
